Saarbrücker Zeitung Verlag und Druckerei GmbH

Originally founded as Nassau-Saarbrueckisches Wochen-Blat, Saarbruecker Zeitung is one of Germany's oldest daily papers. It is the only daily to be published in the Saarland region. With an average circulation of 155,000, Saarbruecker Zeitung is read by approximately 500,000 people a day.

Saarbruecker Zeitung is the region's leading publication, providing comprehensive reporting on local matters and high-quality coverage of national affairs. Thirteen local editorial teams form a tight information network in the Saarland region, supported by capital city editorial staff in Berlin and a worldwide network of correspondents. As a result, Saarbruecker Zeitung is today not only one of the leading regional newspapers in Germany, but also one of the most quoted.

The press also publishes saar.amateur – the only sports paper in the Saarland and as of June 2009 the trend and lifestyle magazine Lifestyle. In addition to saarbruecker-zeitung.de other internet publications include SOL.DE, saarshopping.de and the yellow pages blaue-branchen.de.

Conceived as a result of the proximity to the EU administrative centres of Luxembourg and Strasbourg, the promising new business area of multilingual services completes the international offerings Saarbruecker Zeitung delivers, with the latter services being provided by subsidiaries and associated companies. Saarbruecker Zeitung press and subsidiaries made up of advertisers and multilingual services provide jobs for approximately 2,700 full-time employees.
