Originally founded as Nassau-Saarbrueckisches Wochen-Blat, Saarbruecker Zeitung is one of Germany's oldest daily papers. It is the only daily to be published in the Saarland region. With an average circulation of 155,000, Saarbruecker Zeitung is read by approximately 500,000 people a day.
